Portrait Session Information
The images we make are witty, original, sincere, and capture the personality of our subjects. No two clients are alike; therefore, no two sessions are alike. Each session and image are truly unique to fit you.
Have some questions? Here’s what to expect:
1. INITIAL MEETING – This is our first chance to meet face-to-face (or screen-to-screen) to talk with each other and plan your session and/or wedding day or for us to simply answer any questions you may have. There’s no cost for this meeting, nor any obligation to book a session. We’ll use this time to chat about you, your loved ones and any hobbies you may have. Then we’ll plan how to capture it all! Once we book the session we’ll set a date, discuss locations, ideas, wardrobe and anything else that will make your session and images unique and specific to you.
2. YOUR SESSION – It’s time to get creative and have all sorts of fun! It’s all about you!
3. ONLINE PROOFING/ORDERING – At this time you will be able to view your session/wedding day in its entirety (in addition to the photos posted on our blog & on facebook). It’s up to you which prints and products you order – share the gallery with as many family members and friends as you’d like. We do not pressure you at all during this process. We do our best to ensure this is a simple process from start to finish. Once you order your prints and products, expect them within 2-4 weeks or even sooner! They’ll be beautifully packaged. We pride ourselves in our presentation of your beautiful photographs.
Divinofoto’s Style
A photo session can last anywhere from 1-3 hours and sometimes longer. We shoot with portable lighting kits and/or professional grade diffusers (studio quality lighting on location) as well as capture the beauty that natural light has to offer. All sessions are shot outdoors on location or an indoor environment such as your home or a place that is special to you, keep in mind fluorescent lighting is awful. The best time to work outdoors is about 1-2 hours before sunset in order to capture the best, available natural light, also known as the golden hour. We hope to capture you, your child(ren) or family as they are – genuine personalities, un-posed expressions and honest relationships.
We’ll work together to find the best place to capture the images and style you’re looking for. If you have a location that is unique and special to you, let’s go there! We can also recommend a variety of locations depending on the type of session you have in mind and the style you are seeking. The more prepared we both are going into the session, the more relaxed you’ll be, and the more fun we’ll have, not to mention, the better your photographs will be.
What to wear?
We suggest that you wear your favorite outfit – something comfortable. Casual attire is very popular and works well. If you’re looking for a theme, such as vintage, black & white, etc., we can definitely make that work for you. Solid colors with textures and layers photograph extremely well. For groups, we suggest coordinating colors – be it complimentary colors, or various shades of one color, the choice is yours. Solid colors tend to accent you, rather than you accenting your clothing. These photos are about YOU and we like to keep you at the center of attention rather than your clothing. Jewelry and accessories should be minimal. No watches please!
For the little ones: bring their favorite snack, toy, stuffed animal or blanket as this can really work well to make them comfortable – especially at the beginning and near the end of a session. A change of clothes doesn’t hurt either.
